Optimal design of SSSC and crowbar parameters for performance enhancement of Egyptian Zafrana wind farm

Abstract Zafarana Wind Park is considered the largest wind farm in Middle East. By year 2022, will inject 545 MW to Egypt national electric network (ENEN). This has been connecting ENEN stages (eight stages) from ten years ago. Each stage represents a project of farm. Hence, impact emergency condition on performance installed should be studied. Moreover, determining possible method reduce side effects becomes an important issue. In this paper, combination between Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) and crowbar (Cro-SSSC) used enhance one Park. The studied Z1 (Z1). that first was connected ENEN. paper takes as case examine Cro-SSSC. protect power components SSSC high current during grid fault condition. Also, multi-objective lightning attachment procedure optimization algorithm (LAPO) sine cosine (SCA) are evaluate tune control gains value crowbar's resistance. step order determine values control's resistance which suit system (one Park). sliding mode (SMC) example nonlinear SSSC. hybrid LAPO SMC improve faults. results LAPO, SCA compared three-phase single line ground applied system.
